Carroll and Madison Public Library Foundation Funds Wifi Hotspots for Libraries!

The pandemic has exposed an issue many of us already knew–that internet connectivity is a major issue in rural areas of Arkansas. Therefore, the Carroll and Madison Public Library Foundation is funding a pilot project bringing seven T-Mobile hotspots to Madison County Libraries. Starting today, patrons will have the ability to checkout Wi-Fi hotspots at libraries in Huntsville, Kingston, and St. Paul. Wi-Fi hotspots are wireless internet access points that connect tablets, phone, and laptops to the internet. The devices are the size of a small cell phone and are easy to use. Wi-Fi hotspots can be checked out for one week at a time by patrons 18 years of age and older. Patrons will be given instructions on how to operate the device and sign a device loan agreement.
